 Judge Baugh

 

The recent news article that I found was dealing with a rape case in Billings, MT. In this case judge Baugh handed down a minimal sentence of 30-days for the rape of a 14-year old girl by a 49-year-old man, who was a high school teacher. Sadly the young girl committed suicide 2 years after the incident, while the trial was pending. While the minimal sentence was shocking, what really outraged people was how the judge claimed that the 14-year old girl was “older than her chronological age” and “as much in control of the situation” as her rapist. People were baffled that judge Baugh would place the blame on this young victim and took to social media to express it.
